Rise Up and Pray for Our Children!

The other night while watching Facing the Giants, God revealed something to me.  It was during the scene where the older gentleman prayed as he walked down the hallway while laying hands on the students’ lockers.  Over the next few days I could not get that scene out of my head.  I prayed and asked God what does He want me to do? He said, encourage the church to take their children back from the lies of the enemy!! I pray that this will shake you up as it did me when God first laid this question on my heart. I pray you heed His word.

Do you want your children to go to hell?

What?? Why would you ask such a question?! I know that's probably going through your mind right now.  So, why would I ask a question like this? Because GOD is asking this of YOU!!

It's time we stop sitting back, letting others do what we should be doing.  Stop waiting for the day to 'meet me at the flag pole' to pray for our children.  It's OUR job to lift these kids up in prayer and believe Jesus will change their lives!! Don’t wait on the pastor or youth leader to do it for you.  The children are the next generation and if we don't pray for them, the easier it will be for the enemy to creep in and fill their heads with lies.  The enemy would love nothing more than to get your child farther from the Truth, Jesus! Teach your children to pray for themselves and study the scriptures.  I cannot stress enough the importance of a deep relationship with Christ.  There's a spiritual battle going on.  The enemy is waging war against those who believe in Christ Jesus.  Are we going to sit back and be defeated or are we going to put on our ARMOR and take a stand against the wiles of the devil and fight for our children? (Ephesians 6:10-18).  BE THEIR EXAMPLE and teach them how to defeat the enemy with scriptures!

You might be thinking, ‘what does that scene from the movie have to do with my child?’ Those lockers at the school belonged to someone else’s children, but that didn’t stop him from praying for them.  We don’t know who the lockers belong to, but God does.  God hears their silent cries for help in whatever they may be facing.  I attend church at a middle school and I took that challenge today.  If we attend church together, you might've seen me walking down the hallways praying and laying hands on the lockers and doorways.  Now, I don't say that for a pat on the back or hey look what I did, no! I did it because I want to be obedient and I'm practicing what I preach.

My challenge for you is this - If you gather together with other believers at a school, lay hands on each locker, each doorway, even windows, (if possible).  You may be the one needed to intercede for a child who's desperate for Jesus.

So, I ask the question again...Do you want your children to go to hell? If your answer is NO, and I pray that it is, then it's time to RISE UP!!  The bible says that WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS, (Romans 8:37).   Let’s CONQUER the enemy together in Jesus name!!!

Blessings,

Lisa
