Whose Eyes Are We Looking Through?

This morning as I listened to a sermon given by one of the ministers at ORU, the question, "When we look in the mirror, how do we see ourselves", was asked.  I sat and thought about it for a moment until I had finally come up with an answer.  Sometimes I look in the mirror and see myself as the weak-minded defeated little girl who is easily deceived.  Who tries so hard, but is unable to stand strong against the enemy.  That's when I know that my walk with the Lord is on shaky ground and I need to draw closer to Him.  I see the storm raging around me, but I know that He is there, keeping me under His shadow.  I cry out to Him for help knowing that He hears me because His Word says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).  The waves of loneliness, worry, and fear demand to break through and crash down on me, but the One who IS greater blocks even the smallest ripple.  He loves me that much!!  And when I have found my strength in Him and able to stand against the enemy, I look back in the mirror and see the CONQUERORING WOMAN that God the Father has created me to be.

So, whose eyes are we looking through? Are we looking through our own or is it through the eyes of God? Every day we face a battle, but it's a battle that we have VICTORY over because of Christ Jesus! We must remember to put on the full armor of God and stand firm against the wiles of the devil! (Ephesians 6:10-18).

I pray you have a blessed day in Jesus!!
